Thailand is still one of the World's top 5 destinations for Spas despite the Baht's fluctuation rates. The tourists are looking for quality services and medical professionalism in Spas that don't really mind the costs due to the fluctuating exchange rates. Thailand's medical costs are not that different from other countries in Asia and the Doctor's fee is a bit cheaper. Its growth in the country's medical progress and professionalism and the choices available to patients. However, Thailand has been weak in advertising and public relations to lure medical tourists. Just last year, 2.4 million foreigners sought for medical services and they spent 140 billion Baht in total. Thai Massage World Record

Hundreds of people pushed, prodded and stretched their way to a new world record for the biggest simultaneous group massage in Bangkok on August 30. The event was staged by the Thai government in an effort to lure foreigners to a country whose tourist-friendly image has been tested in recent years by deadly floods, political violence and concerns about crime and safety. Supporters of traditional Thai massage say people in pain need look no further than their local spa.

The World Record of Thai Massage

World Record for Thai Massage project is set to draw 840 pairs of contestants, beating the current record held for two years by Australia of 232 couples. Contests will also be held in Chiang Mai, Ubon Ratchathani, Surat Thani and Phuket. The record attempt is a collaboration between the Public Health Ministry, the Department of Export Promotion, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and national airline THAI. At a launching ceremony yesterday, Chiang Mai provincial public health officer Wattana Kanchanakamon said the project - organised jointly by the Public Health Ministry, the Department of Export Promotion, Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai Airways - aimed to promote Thai massage as well as boost health tourism.
